About

We raise Meishan Hogs on our farm. We originally fell in love with these docile, gentle cuties with large ears while visiting a fellow Meishan grower Clover Blossom Farm. Our breeding stock originates from 3 different farms in Georgia, and all our Meishan breeding stock is registered.  We are lucky to be home to the Meishan Breeding association right here in Georgia.

Meishan Hogs are one of the oldest breeds of livestock pigs, and are still on the livestock conservancy’s critically endangered list.  Meishan’s are considered to be a heritage breed and are most known for their ability to thrive on pasture, their ability to obey fencing, and they have excellent mothering capabilities.  Besides the personality traits that make Meishan’s special their meat is incomparable to most other hog breeds.

Meishan’s produce a red meat pork, with an incredibly tender, succulent tasting fat. We raise our pigs with lots of love, rotate them on pastures, our cover cropped fields, feed them TONS of our farms vegetable scraps and take the best care we can of them while they are here on the farm. We raise each pig between 13 and 15 months, which is the way it should be. Nice and slow. Living their lives fully outdoors free to roam where they want, means our hogs rarely secrete anything other than dopamine. Happy Pigs Taste better
