Help Ashley Feed Pigs and Save Her Farm
I am Ashley Rodgers. I have owned and operated Rodgers Greens and Roots Farm in Douglasville Georgia for 8 years. I absolutely love what I do, and the farmers that work for me are like family. If you have followed my story, you may know that I decided to pivot from organic vegetables this past year towards Meishan Hogs. While from the outside it was a strategic business move for me, it was also a way I was trying to survive, and keep farming. Because I LOVE it, and there really isn't anything else I would like to do in life. Costs are high for everyone these days, farms are the same, and our climate isn't getting any easier to work with. Sometimes you gotta pivot before you crash and burn. I thought that after years of financial hardship I could make the pivot happen before we ran out of money, but sadly that's not the case.Selling my farm is a way to try and save it. In preparation for the transition to exclusively hog production, we ceased planting vegetables. Now, our transition to another property is taking longer than expected, and we need help. Help to feed pigs. To pay my staff. To cover loans. To keep paying the minimums on my massive credit card debt. Itβs been a rough few years financially in this climate, and I need some help to make it to the sale.My offer was accepted on a property in Carrollton on 50 acres, that is just perfect for the hogs. The whole purchase/sale process is going to take a few months. Anything you can give will help myself, the farm, and my staff see it through this turbulent time.In the long run, my hope is that this new property with less overhead and a fresh start, will allow me the ability to succeed for at least another 8 years. Anything you can offer will be greatly appreciated. We have merchandise available on our website, that we make a small profit from. A little goes a long way and any bit helps. Thank you.
